Noteworthy Events September 4-10

Mend Project 2nd Annual Donation Show  9/3  6pm
Linen Building - Suggested $5 donation or $2 with used eyewear donation

“Spectacled” features an exhibit of altered eyewear sent in by artists from around the globe for the silent auction, eyewear art created from an outreach workshop at The Boys and Girls Club and an art installation of over 1,000 pieces of donated used eyewear from the community. 

There will be informational booths on The Church of Craft, The ReUseum, Idaho Metal Arts Guild, The Mend Project and more. A free kid's workshop will allow children to create their own pair of spectacles the night of the event. Entertainment will be provided by the
Vinyl Preservation Society of Idaho 

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Mend Project and Unite for Sight , a nonprofit organization that empowers communities worldwide to improve eye health and eliminate preventable blindness.

City Harvest Celebration: Fall for Boise Kick-off  9/5   5-9pm
Grove Plaza


Join us from 5:00pm – 9:00pm in celebration of our local food, arts, and history -- a cultural harvest! Enjoy free live music (Boise Rock School, Opera Idaho, & Onomatopoeia), bid on silent auction items offered by local businesses and artists, and purchase Idaho wine and beer!

Eagle BBQ CookOff and Spudfest   September 5-7
Guerber Park  11am

September 5th., 6th, and 7th. Will bring back the Eagle BBQ Cook off and Spudfest for it’s second annual Idaho State Championship BBQ and community food festival at Guerber park in Eagle.

This year’s event will continue with it’s support of the Idaho Food Bank by offering admission to the public for a donation of non-perishable food items, or a fee of $2.00 which will go to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.

In addition, the Boise Rescue Mission will be running the new “spud booth” serving baked potatoes, and Moto- Tech will be raffling a new ATV to benefit the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.

The play runs Sept. 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 2009 at 8 PM
Sept 10 & 17 at 7:30 PM and Sept 13 & 19 at 2 PM
